B.O.L.D. Living

God saw me as BOLD long before I ever did. He took me from a crushed and wounded place and step by step or should I say, letter by letter, he began building me into a BOLD woman.

So what do I mean by BOLD?

The short answer is - Beautifully Original Lord Directed!

Let me break it down even more

Beautifully original – By my mere existence, I am an original. There has never been anyone like me before and never will be someone like me in the future. The same goes for everyone. Like a master painter God created us as unique individuals with gifts and talents and the personality to go with them! Each of us is an original, designed to reflect a small part of God's amazing creation and thereby give Him glory and honor! Maybe you are like me though and you “know” that already but do you really? Have you been living like a beautiful original? How beautifully original do you REALLY think you are? What or who defines your beauty? If you are so original, how come comparison is still an issue? What compels you to still desire to fit in?

Lord Directed – I have lived self directed, other directed and Lord directed and here's what I have found. Self directed leads to stress, other directed leads to confusion and Lord directed leads me beside still waters. All of creation has an awareness of incompleteness that drives them to want a higher authority and direction. That incompleteness can only be filled by God. We are irrevocably tied to our Creator. He put that seeking desire in us to have direction and meaning. What better way to do that than to reflect His glory by walking in truth and depending on Him as a child does a father? After all, he is the Father who has supplied our greatest need, salvation, through the blood of His son Jesus Christ. Then he went one step further and gave believers the Holy Spirit. The indwelling Spirit gives us the ability to be directed by God and when we let Him teach us how to embrace the gifts, talents and personality He empowers us with, we become the BOLD women we were destined to be.

The curious thing I found in my journey to becoming a BOLD woman is that it can only be done by living as a BOLD woman. It is only by living as a BOLD woman that all the knowledge I have gained over the years about having a God given purpose, having value, being special to God etc. morphed into unshakable belief. No longer do I just believe it because I was told but because I am finally fully embracing who God has made made me to be, where he has brought me, and where he is taking me. The mundane now has purpose; the hard places are given perspective; the scars are signs of victory; the seasons of life have been given value. In short, my whole life has begun to turn into the beautifully original Lord directed life God has always desired I should live, simply because I am living it.
