Soul Defense is a Bible study unlike anything I’ve ever done before.  It is in-depth and thorough.  It is personal and applicable.  Prepare to be challenged, both by the content and by Jeanne and Erin, to really go deep in the Word.  All too often, we as Believers read the Bible just to check it off our to-do lists, without ever really deep-diving into how it speaks to us and applies to us today.  Jeanne and Erin encourage you to chew on the Word, meditate on it, spending time really studying and thinking about it, and letting the Lord speak to you through it.

And prepare to be changed. 

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart ~ (Hebrews 4:12)

That doesn’t just mean that sin in your life will be revealed and dealt with (although it will).  In the context of Soul Defense, it means that the lies of the enemy that you have believed about God, about yourself, and about your relationship with God will be revealed and dealt with.  If you internalize the lessons in Soul Defense, you will be changed.

As with anything, the more time and effort you put into the Soul Defense study, the more you will get out of it.  I encourage you to take it seriously.  Attend any in-person sessions with Jeanne and Erin.  Diligently do the homework.  Use it as it is intended, to strengthen you and encourage you as you become bolder in your faith.
