Heart & Soul

Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

Jeremiah 32:41

Reading Jeremiah 32 and 33 gave me a deeper insight into the heart of God.

His lavish tenderness and mercy for the Children of Israel despite all they had done was humbling and overwhelming.

It was a powerful reminder to my heart that the same love He had for them now rests on me as a child of God.

His love is never in part or half measures, it is a consuming fire.

Even His wrath can’t quench the passion He holds for His beloved because He loves with His whole heart and soul.

The hardness of their hearts didn’t change God’s desire to personally bring to pass the good He had planned for them.

That same love and passion for them is as strong now as it was then.

If you feel like God doesn’t see, if you feel like God doesn’t care, if you feel like you have done too much wrong for Him to ever desire to be gracious to you, if you feel you have messed up so much that God can’t bring His promises to pass, read Jeremiah 32 and 33

You will see the heart of God and just how much He loves you…how much He loves us.

Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

Jeremiah 32:37-42
