The Tower of Babel
Dear Father,
You are able, well able to confuse the “language” of the wicked who are uniting to “build” their “tower” and their own “name.” You can (and will) turn them on one another to their own demise. They shall fall into confusion and disarray because they have defied the living God, uniting against all sound wisdom and against You!! I ask that You do that again in this generation.
Your desire is that we come together in agreement as your children and saints – in unity with You as one body, fit together in Christ. You are well able to bring us into unity, one nation, under God – indivisible – with one Shepherd, Jesus, our King eternal!!
Throughout the ages You have confounded and confused the enemy, gone before Your people, and strengthened Your saints. Father, I ask You to fill Your people with Your glory and save our land, but especially unite true believers – exposing the ‘tares’ (unbelievers in the church), rocking their world, so perhaps any will see the emptiness of lukewarm and be filled with the Holy Spirit in their lives.
We need You now, more than ever! Help me to be Your hands and feet and serve in whatever part of the body of believers you want.
Love You forever and ever, love, Jeanne
Psalms 33:11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations… 21-22 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. (all of 33)
Psalms 18:2-3 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Genesis 11:1-9 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
