The Way He Created Me

Over many years God has been teaching my heart a beautiful lesson; to love myself by loving the way HE created me to be. Whenever I fall short of a standard (good, bad or indifferent) it is easy to default and allow Satan to wound and cut with lies. No matter how the breech in my thinking starts, he takes every opportunity to point out bruises, scars, and flaws.

But God also takes advantage of those opportunities. When I succumb to well aimed lies He takes those moments to comfort and remind me that he started something good in my life and will perform it until it is perfected.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Philippians 1:6

Every time I choose to be built up in God's truth, despite my bruises, scars and flaws, He reveals new depths of His unchanging love.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39

I could never deserve such love BUT He loves me regardless of my broken humanity. His love is surreal and unreal; totally undeserved yet He pulls me close and calls me beloved.

The truth is, there will always be times I fail. But now I focus on the lessons learned instead of the failures. This verse captures the heart of God.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

Psalms 103:11-14

Does any of this resonate with you? If so, I want you to start putting the focus on believing and receiving the truths about who God says you are. We all have scars from being jostled through life and from doing some of the jostling ourselves. Learn to love how God made you and no matter how many bruises or scars you get from traversing this life it will never change the fact that God made you special and with a purpose. Today is the day you look into the mirror and start accepting who God says you are.
